Believe it or not there's not long to go before the Festive Season is here. Welshpool will be celebrating in style as usual with the Christmas Lights being illuminated on the night of Friday 1st December and the popular Winter Festival taking place on Saturday 2nd.
Fri 1st December
6.00pm: The Corn Exchange will be open with stalls and craft sessions
6.20pm: Newtown Youth Band will lead Father Christmas & his sleigh in a procession from the Tourist Information Centre to the Town Hall
6.30pm: Carnival Queen Macie Lockwood will switch onthe Christmas Lights
There will then be free visits to see Santa in his Grotto.
Sat 2nd December
Winter Festival 10.00am-4.00pm
There will be stalls on the street as well as craft and charity stalls in the Corn Exchange and the Assembly Room of the Town Hall. There will also be music on the stage in the Assembly Room and Craft in the Judges Retiring Room. New this year will be a 'Petting Zoo' and music in Puzzle Square.
