This year's 'Race the Train' will be held on Sunday 30th July, 2017.
Cyclists are invited to race the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway train which leaves Welshpool Raven Square at 11.15am. The Mayor of Welshpool will be there to see everyone on their way.
The train takes 45 minutes on average to cover 8 miles whilst the cyclists will cover 9 miles. The route is fully marshalled with first aid points, rescue vehicles etc. Cyclist must be over 14, wear a helmet and have a roadworthy bike.
Those wishing to enter to enter the race should be at Raven Square Station no later than 10.45am on the day of the race. There is water and chocolate at the finish at Llanfair Caereinion.

24 out of 33 Cyclists beat the train and a new record was set by Ashley Banks of 27 minutes and 35 seconds.
2017 Race the Train will be held on Sunday 30th July.
